A Voice for the Underserved

Community Legal Services of Philadelphia had a cool idea for their 2012 annual report. They wanted it to appear like a magazine.

Four editorial spreads serve as the highlight of the report. They feature personal client stories, intended to raise up the voices of those who often feel invisible.  CLS’ dedication to improving their lives is a key theme. The stories serve as an example of the kind of work the organization does for thousands of similar Philadelphians living in poverty.



Photographer Stuart Goldenberg helped to capture the striking faces of each featured client. CLS staff conducted interviews that were used to create each narrative. Our job was to make the magazine concept come to life.
